These  myself and Pacey, who would have known LA would be soo windy!

My Name is Kimberly Delano and my Mom, Karen Revilla and I are the the owner/operators of Beauty and the Beast Shih Tzu.  I am located in the Sacramento area in Roseville and my Mom lives just a few hours away in the Bay area located on the border of San Jose and Los Gatos. Long before I was ever born my Mother owned and bred Champion bloodline German Shepherds, but as life takes its own course we did not continue to breed until many years later.  About 11 years ago the idea of breeding dogs became an idea yet again.  We had purchased a very typey Scottish Terrier who we hoped to stud out eventually.  "Tyler", who is still a family pet today, developed horrible skin allergies and was never bred so the idea again remained on the back burner.  Throughout my life we have owned so many different types of animals and I have had both dogs and horses all my life, and have been involved with Morgan show horses for about ten years.  I have shown horses, trained some of my own, helped others, (as an amateur) and have become increasingly involved with the breeding end.  I have been fortunate to have been around some great horses and trainers as well as some bad ones!  Sometimes you can learn more from the tough ones and it makes you that much stronger.  I have helped work and show regional, national, and world champions as well as horses just getting their start.  My first time showing a Morgan my sister and I showed a three year old who was just in from pasture.  We showed him in an in hand conformation class, with no shoes on him against experienced in hand horses all with trainers and we not only won the class we went on to win Grand Champion gelding!  My current personal horse has only been shown once and won in hand with my sister and I showing at our Regional show.  Showing and handling horse has not always been all roses but I have learned a great deal, which I am now translating into dog breeding.
My family is made up up My Mom and Dad, my two sisters, Katie and Kristy and my brother  Bradley.  Though we live a couple of hours apart we remain very close.  most of my family live in the San Jose, bay area.  All of my family and friends contribute to our breeding program in one way or another.  My Grandma is also the proud owner of two Shih Tzu, so it is really all in the family.  My Mom and I have both worked in the service industry our whole lives.  I have also been putting myself through college, part time.   You will find us to be honest, real people.   I  have also had multiple background checks performed, and you are welcome to visit our homes and dogs.
Though the interest in dog breeding began many years ago some of my motivation in beginning to actually breed myself was out of frustration of the lack of honest, communicative people that breed healthy, quality dogs.  I watched friends, family and even myself in the same situation: finding a quality breeder who truly cared about the puppies and improving each generation.  I have only been involved with the Shih Tzu breed for a few years, but I am avid study.  After I got my first Shih Tzu my heart was won and I knew there would be no other dog for me.  They are truly big dogs in small packages, absolutely my dream dog.  So as I fell more and more in love with the breed the idea of breeding began to once again resurface.  I  spent and still spend hours each week, researching the breed, going to shows, meeting  breeders and more. I am always interested in constructive criticism and the opinions of other breeders/ show handlers.  I have carefully chosen my dogs from breeders around the country and am proud to feature bloodlines from around the globe.  My Shih Tzu are what the breed is all about: great health, sound conformation, the best temperaments and the kind of beauty that turns heads wherever we go.  My dogs have been evaluated by several breeders and handlers and I am very pleased with how well they have presented themselves.
We have committed ourselves to becoming the type of breeders what we would have wanted to purchase a baby from. We are willing to answer questions, reply promptly to inquiries and are committed to providing an experience for our customers that exceeds expectations.  We are focused on improving our dogs themselves as well as the breed- one dog at a time.  We will always remain small in order to be able to spoil our pets and dogs.  We show just a few times a year, primarily to educate others about our wonderful breed and to showcase our puppies.  If you are only interested in titles we ask that you search for another breeder.  We show to have fun  and enjoy our babies.  We often bring out our blues, chocolates and small type dogs, so therefore we will not always win but always make a statement.  Many people comment they have never seen some of these "rare" colors so it is our goal to only show our very best examples.  We are proud to show our dogs and even more proud to share our puppies with families who deserve a quality pet who will turn heads wherever they go.  We invite you to browse our website, ask questions and come visit our dogs.  We are confident you will SEE the difference.

Thank you,
Kim Delano and Karen Revilla
