At Beauty and the Beast Shih Tzu quality is our highest priority, and we never sacrifice! We are a small, home based family breeding program. We occasionally offer puppies for sale a few times a year. We specialize in superior customer service and creating an unparalleled puppy buying experience. We strive to go beyond expectations for our customers- just as we did in our "jobs" before we began breeding these wonderful babies. Our service does not end when the puppy goes home to you. We always love new pictures, updates and questions. We stay in touch with several of our past clients by email/ facebook and by visiting at dog shows or playdates. We will also care for your puppy while you are on vacation so you never have to worry about how your little one will be cared for while you are away. We are available for any question or concern about your puppy throughout their lifetime. We breed to improve the breed and our personal breeding dogs. All of our dogs are loved and spoiled as family pets first and breeders second. Our babies have their own personal dog walker, hair bows for every occasion and our favorites with our groomers and vets. Our babies occasionally enjoy playdates with past puppies who have gone to their new homes, dog shows, the dog park and sometimes just a ride to grocery store. They are always with us- truly part of our family. We are striving to produce puppies that are the total package and are focusing on breeding show prospects in tiny sizes and hard to find colors all the while maintaining true Shih Tzu type and beauty, excellent health and the best temperaments possible. Our Shih Tzu just have that "look" : wide, domed heads, big heart melting eyes with long sassy eye lashes, short noses, level or almost level bites and super smooshy faces all on top of short, cobby bodies. Most of our babies mature in the 6-11 pound range, though we will have an occasional puppy both smaller and larger than this and emphasize body type and structure over weight. We incorporate both tiny type and small standards into our breeding program to ensure the best conformation, health and quality possible. Size and color are always secondary to correct conformation and body structure.
It is our goal to make sure that each and every puppy we bring into this world is a puppy that we would want to own. We try our best to match puppies into the lifetime of their future homes based on the puppies personalities and lifestyles of prospective families. Most of our puppies are placed in pet homes where they become "Champion Coach Potatoes". We try to be as honest as possible about the size, potential and personality of our puppies in order to give our babies the best chance to find their lifetime home. Each puppy is treated as an individual, just like the adults. We absolutely never sell to puppymills, pet brokers, back yard breeders, Kennels or any person who we do not feel has the best interest of our puppies at heart. All puppies are raised in our home, where they are surrounded by lots of love and attention and are well socialized and ready to be your best friend when they go home to you. In that regard we take full responsibility to ensure that each puppy is placed into loving, caring homes and if anything were to ever change we offer a lifetime home guarantee to ensure none of our babies ever end up in a shelter or worse. Loving and breeding the ShihTzu is a family affair. I live in Roseville, CA and my Mom lives in San Jose, so our dogs always have two homes, and we offer in person pickup for puppies in both locations. Though our program is already small having two homes for our adults ensures that they are spoiled family pets and are always treated and loved like children.
Each of our puppies will have seen my vet before going home. During these visits my vet performs all shots and fully inspects each puppy for optimal health. You are always welcome to contact my vets, who will attest to the health and quality of our dogs. The puppies are also fed all natural food and are well started on potty training before going home. All puppies are sent home with a puppy package, and we are available for lifetime support! Temperament and health are of the highest priority and we will never breed an adult without these being the best! We attend dog shows and other dog events regularly. We show primarily to have fun and help educate others about the breed and always love to learn new things as well!
